I was lucky to purchase mine recently online from a company that no longer stocks them. You could always pursue this option, particularly with more specific stand needs, and contact international sellers. You'll have to be very mindful of postage costs though (particularly from American stockists).

Plenty come and go on Ebay if you're patient, and places within Australia and the UK ship for a good price in my experience.

Another thing I've taken to doing recently is looking through antique stores- and was lucky to recently find a whole secret stash of them in one store! In particular, the Asian sections of such stores tend to unknowingly use bonsai-type stands for holding random items of decor.

Hope that helps!

What quality of stands are you after Astro? Run of the mill but reasonably joined standard pine stands, OR, really "pretty" exotic timber stands (eg. huon pine slabs)?

Whilst walking through the forest of Bonsai Myths, I found a single small tree.
From it I learned all I needed to know.

A metre high? Might be difficult.

What type of stand? For a single tree or multiple trees?

Ray has some cascade stands. I doubt they are a metre tall though. Good luck with that size!

I thought about making a tall bonsai stand, but I was thinking 60cm or there abouts, one idea could be to get a an old wood bar stool, and make a top for it that would be closer to a meter high.
