New stand

Post by Pezz95 »

Was playing around with some planks of pallets and decided to make a stand for my bonsai. Might not be a tradition bonsai stand but made it myself and I'm happy with it here's some pictures (:

Why not? It's great to be different and challenge the status quo sometimes!

Nothing wrong with informal stands.
Rough and ready and different work for me. I have seen Bricks and corrugated iron and bits of bark work too.

This might be more suited to a less formal tree than a Juniper to. Mabey Native of some type?

There's a tradition of "informal" but absolutely carefully chosen stands for bonsai, like the straw mat, the slab of wood, the scattering of gravel and so on. It's a sign of art to carry it off. Or it can look pretty crap if you don't do it well. Yours looks good to me. Make a formal one, but also keep some lengths to play around with - test it out for yourself.
