While many crab apples are now past their peak, those of the clear cool climates are just coming into their own now. So here is a couple of my crab apples in flower.
The older one is in need of a trim and has had an in/arch graft done but I am hopeful that I might be able to show it next year.
I am currently trying to grow a nabari on the one being developed and it is in need of a proper pot, but the flowers are still worth the effort.

Thanks Bodhi. They are at their best when in flower, but also look great in Autumn with the fruit on.

Re: A Couple of Crab Apples
Hi Watto , mate i have a few varieties here , some are just flowering now other will be a bit later . All are in the ground growing nicely , safest place for the pending summer .I need a spare week or two just to wire them for the growing season , hopefully I will have something worthwhile to pot up in a year or two .
Cheers . Alpine

Re: A Couple of Crab Apples
I'm sorry but I don't know the particular varities. One was an air layer from a tree in the yard, and the other was dug from the garden. I will look them up soon so I know myself.
