Hi Just pick up the lady today I think this is a camellia or some kind of rhododendron could someone please confirm?

Ah it definitely does match that description, I guess then the large leaves dont bode well for bonsai? Would i be better off keeping it as a feature tree?

:imo: Personally I think it has great bonsai potential! You should be able to reduce leaf size over time by defoliation. Nice base and trunk.

Very nice trunk, i agree with peter this will make a nice bonsai and the leaf size will reduce.
