Hi all,
I write today with a slight tone of frustration. I have now purchased 3 cherry blossom plants and all three have died.
I purchased the first at a very early stage, in Winter. It was before spring so the leaves hadn't yet come out.
The second and third were older and were in flower when I purchased them and looked fine and dandy.
The problem is none of them survived into spring. They didn't pop any new leaves and I cannot figure out why. The first was repotted into a slightly larger pot, the second left in its original pot and the last repotted after the flowers dropped.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Cheers,
Mo

Re: Cherry Blossoms Keep Dying!!
There are some fungal deceases that will kill off a cherry very quickly. Usually by the time you realise it's to late. It basically stops the leaf from growing and this the tree has no energy to grow. Most cherry growers spray with a fungicide as a precaution rather than a cure.

You can also try flowering peaches. They are a bit stronger. I have some growing up here in Brisbane.

Would love to have a few deciduous flowering trees in my collection, but for me a Sakura is the epitome of all flowering trees and not to have one (living) is depressing! HahaAGarcia wrote:You can also try flowering peaches. They are a bit stronger. I have some growing up here in Brisbane.
