Malus Domestica APPLE TREE
Malus Domestica APPLE TREE
Ok, please bear with me, but I am brand new at this. I visited a bonsai farm with my daughter and purchased a flowering quince and a fukien tea tree to start my collection. Then of course I had to look around on ebay and found these seeds for sale, and I thought why not, so I purchased them. So they are on their way to me now, and I know I have to put them in the fridge for a month, but does anyone have a link, info, pdf, something that will guide me to getting these seeds started to potting them for training. I know I am asking a lot, but hey, if I don't ask, I will never know. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Hi tieflyer, firstly welcome to the forum.
Regarding the seeds, you'll have to wait until the end of Autumn or start of winter before you "stratify" (that's the process of putting them in the fridge to simulate winter) them. If you start the germination process now, they won't be strong enough to survive this years winter, unless they live in a greenhouse all year round, which has its own problems.
Most seeds I've bought online come with an instruction sheet, but a quick Google search for "germinating apple seeds" will give you plenty to choose from. Here's the first one to pop up

Hope this helps, and happy bonsai!

I planted crab apple seeds last winter, half I stratified and half I didn't, and both batches had a similar success rate, so I think you might be right there. As long as you're not in the tropics I guess
