So I repotted PJ Fig today into a colander from my purchase at Ray Nesci, one thing that I do not know if its normal is the main root.
Is it normal for the main roots to curl slightly like a pigs tail going horizontally - best way i can describe it.

Re: PJ Fig Root
It is 'normal' for roots to grow straight, unless they hit something then it is 'normal' for them to bend. If someone bent the root while they were potting it up it would be 'normal' for it to be curled.
Without seeing yours I would say there's no real problem but if I find a large horizontal root when I'm potting up a fig I will cut it back hard so that the other roots get a chance to catch up. You want to try to avoid having 1 really dominant root, especially if it is close to the surface. Someone posted a picture a few days ago of a fig with 1 huge root on the surface. If your tree is allowed to continue it may just end up looking like that.
Often the tree will naturally start other roots at or near the surface and will fix itself but you should keep an eye on it just in case.
