this tree was once a beautiful tree, then my father and I got to it, over the years since, it's steadily died back... It's still alive

Sad, will take a lot of work to get the vigour back into thoe branches. I wouldn't d any work on it for a few years.

i had one of these bought as nursery stock. was developing foliage, some movement in the trunk with wire etc.
and then for no apparent reaon boom, it went brown and that was it. nothing left.
it didnt show any signs or anything.
at least this one is still alive. i am sure with the right care it will come back.
if it is budding like crazy that is a good sign. it sound like your on the right track to bring it back to its former glory.

whats the whoops for??? i didnt actually realise the pic was that big though remeber pads there are other options for this tree, thats the first one i have done for it, if you like it thats great but like i said there are other options that i have seen for this tree, along similar lines but there are differences.

thake a look at this thread of inspirations from nature, its a casuarina but it is of similar structure that you can go with too

so i know you may be excited you have some idea or path to go on with the tree, but if you can hold back till i do a couple more to see whats there and how we can look at it we might find something better

heres another option mate this one is a little more involved in the bending process and you will need to either get a new bud to burst open or graft a new branch in

this is a bit more along the lines of a literati but you might even call it slanting??? not sure on that, but you would need to change planting angle even more so then the first virt and then work from there
since your gonna get someone else to do the wiring and bending you might want to take copies of the virts with ya or they might even have a better vision than i

Today, I took hubby for a drive... to visit miyagiman lol.... ulteriour motive??? never...

the results... this tree, which as many of you know, I believed was beyond help, that I was ready to give away.... look what I have now????

Oh no!! dad has seen his tree in the flesh so to speak... discussions arise as to who owns the tree..lol, I don't deny ownership, but maintain that I am owed $3000- for all the work, maintenace etc done to the tree..... who agrees who disagrees... and until cash is laid in my hand, the tree remains in my care...... (increasing in value I am certain )

Please keep this in tas the lighthearted matter it is supposed to be, niether my father or myself are serious in this debate

what would you pay for this tree???? (It's not for sale, so no one will be held to anything they say....)
