JBP raw to initial styling

I bought this black pine late last year as a raw stock. Ever since then, I started to try bending trunks and branches. I hope it works out well with the initial styling for this pine. Its time for this pine to rest until the next growing season and will do the branching.

I'll be the first to say it, get more movement in the branches before they thicken. With black pine, chances are you're not going to be able to replace those ones if they end up dead straight!!

But great work otherwise so far mate, well done.

hi patrick
great use of the available branches. it now has nice flow to the trunk and taper.
i think you can squeeze the new apex down even further by tying it down to the trunk then wire and put movement to the rest of the apex and the hanging branch. after all that is done, then the tree can be left alone until late summer next season. if all goes well( liquid feed in a couple of weeks then feed aggresively before the start of Spring until late summer), the tree should have back budded quite well. then cut back to those back buds to form your branch structures.

there are alot of these pines around in victoria, i am not a big fan of what the tree has to offer but they still can be made into good trees.
