This is just an idea. Do you think reducing the upright part of the tree suites it better as a semi-cascade/cascade

you have to ask your self, Is it an upright style or a Cascade?
A Bonsai cannot be both these styles as the sight is drawn in 2 directions and looks funny.
You will have to remove the cascade or the top part.
