P. afra (jade tree)

Post by Timothy »

Hi all . I've been busy with this tree for only 2 years. (in it's 3rd yr now). I actually just wanted to see if the roots would clasp the rock , and it did. Do you think i should remove the 1st branch on the right ? The 2nd branch on the right is actually part of a back branch which i wired to the front . Any advice pls . Thanks.
Tim.

Nice tree :tu: I think the you could remove the first right hand branch for sure. I like the overall image. I think the main leader could use a bit of movement. I would get some heavy wire onto it let it dry out completely before bending to prevent the branch snapping.
p. Afra are one of my favorite species they respond well to defoliation but I would do it in summer and again let them dry out before any severe work on them. They don't mind being stressed out. :tu2:
