Looks like a tree of some kind. Most likely classified under the Plantae kingdom. :lost

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.

Yes - larger ones can take a while so don't chuck them if they don't seem to strike straight away. One of the most underutilised species in Australia I feel.

I love the look of the leaves ... they are tiny - this was a picture referenced by the owner of the flowers (they don't look much like a Clerodendron, tho?)

Does that change your mind?

The owner has mentioned that these produce lots of suckers (this is mentioned about the Cleros online)...

Yes not a clero. Smaller flower that has some "legs" on it. Not sure what you have :lost:

Shame, was getting excited... Still going to have a go, but was hoping to know what I'm growing... Might make it easier...

Hey Tony, I'd still be inclined to go with Clero. If you crush a leaf does it smell off Elmar? I reckon the plant is Clero inume.

Yes it has a strong smell. Hard to describe (almost hemp in nature but with a hint of something ... ?medical?clinical)... I will look up your suggestion Graeme to see.
