Algae

Post by treeman »

For some reason, this year I have a very bad algae problem on many branches and trunks of many different species - evergreen and deciduous.
Apart from brushing hundreds of matchstick sized beances with vinegar, has anyone discovered a spray that will work?
Lime sulphur doesn't work well. I have not tried copper yet.

I spray my trunks with a mix of 50/50 water vinegar. Never had a negative affect so far :fc:
a lot quicker the cotton bud

If youve got all the money in the world you could jump onto the Kaneshin page and buy one of the spray guns they sell - as used by Bill Valavanis on one of his blog posts, although maybe more for trunk cleaning than individual branches.
Looks pretty sweet, but it is about $750 before postage.
