Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering when the best time is to prune, repot and root prune Chaenomeles speciosa? I have read a few different things online - some say Autumn, some people say late Spring so I was just after some clarification. Mine has just started to put leaves out now.
Thanks in advance.

2 differing recommendations does not necessarily mean either is wrong. I think both are ok.
It does not seem to matter if these have started to grow leaves when you repot.
Autumn repotting is becoming more popular as more growers find that it works. Does not mean that spring repotting is wrong, it is just another opportunity that we did not know about before.

I grow a few of these. They are prone to nematode infestation. To help avoid this you should repot and trim in mid winter.
No problem if there are flower buds. They like heavy soil.
