[I.D.] beer goggles.

Post by Pearcy001 »

Hey guys,

Just strolled out of the pub before as you do on a sunny Sunday arvo. Upon walking out I observed a rather large tree that had quite a nice leaf and bark, so I decided to take a cutting.

Just thought I'd see if anyone can ID it? And the other important question, is it good for Bonsai? I'm only guessing but I don't think this one will be too hard to ID, maybe some sort of acacia? I just don't seem to have the wisdom, maybe it will come to me after another beer?:beer:

I'm guessing a buxus.

Leaves are very similar but this thing was huge with sparse foliage. Tree would stand approx 5m high with a trunk around 1m thick. I'll try grab a photo of the tree next time I'm near.

The tree looks to be Robinia spp. Common name is pseudo acacia.
