Beech styling

Hi all
Want to keep this as the front
Mum saw this and bought it thinking it will be a good tree [WHITE SMILING FACE][WHITE SMILING FACE]
Understand the roots are exposed so planning on a repot in about 2 yrs on adding more soil
After some advice on styling this beech
I have only repotted this late winter early spring 2015
Have also snipped off the end buds
Went on what I have read on forums

Beech are hardy trees but work a little differently to regular deciduous, with beech you tend to grow the branches and trunk like a pine. So while trunk chopping and wiring a new leader does help develop taper, you cannot thicken a tree like a trident maple, remove all the branches and expect rampant regrowth. While they will develop buds on old wood, its important to encourage them by pushing energy back down the branch by leaf reduction and tip pruning.

Beech are very apically dominant, so it's important to thin out the apex of your tree to keep the lower branches strong.

Wire your tree now to get the main branches into position because they will not wire well when thicker. Do not defoliate. Use covered wire to protect the bark.

I wire smaller branches at the end of winter when branches are bare, which is when I also prune branches.
