Tanuki juniper

About 12 months ago I found a nice piece of driftwood and attempted a phoenix graft with a juniper. Today I started wiring a few of the branches. Some how I managed to delete the before photos

love the idea of grafting the drift wood to it, should be a awesome tree when it fills out

Hi Cottie, I think you've done a great job of fixing the juniper to the drift wood , what type of drift wood is it and what are you going to do to preserve it

I'm unsure what type of driftwood it is but it is very hard. To preserve it I have soaked it in earls wood Hardener

Hi cottie nice job on the driftwood . Try to leave as much foliage on the juni's as possible , especially closer to the trunk .

Have you recessed the trunk into the deadwood ? .

I have used Aussie hardwoods in the past and find the tend to get a lot of different fungul growths around the soil line , I have switch to cypress pine or juniper which doesn't appear to be effected by fungus to the same degree . Look forward to seeing this in a few years time .
