Pomegranate wiring question

I bought this pomegranate in October last year and have been letting it do its own thing ever since, producing beautiful double flowers and generally looking very happy.
I would like to start introducing some gentle curves to the outer branches before I pot it up in spring.
My main question is; can I wire it now, or should I wait?

I plan to angle it more over to the left, to emphasise the "Mother and Daughter" effect.
The roots are nice, too. I can't wait to get this into a suitable pot!

These things grow pretty well. I bought one last year, hacked the hell out of it, broke branches and took cuttings. Everything is growing strongly... with recently applied wire.

I think wiring can be done at any time, but it is recommended at different points to maximise how long it stays on there (and minimising reapplications and wire waisting). Be careful as branches can be brittle.

I've found with pomegranate, flowers and fruits zap energy which can be beneficial to other parts of the tree. Also they send out a lot of suckers which again take energy which could be better used elsewhere.

You can wire any tree whenever you like, just do not let the wire cut in and mark with fast growing trees.
you might have to take it offf and reapply if it does.
