Got this what's it November 2013.
Was about a 100cm tall with a large gap between crown and lower foliage so I did an air lay to reduce and obviously get a second tree.
Air layed successfully and potted out great but as it was at the back of my grow bench the ever annoying Blackbirds dug out the soil and the roots shriveled up and it went to the green waste bin.
This is the original tree that is going along very well but I have no idea what it actually is and to make it more difficult as it was left and forget I can't remember if in fact it is deciduous.
I actually thought it was a pear but as i said I can't remember it loosing it's leaves although this is the third defoliation this season.

No idea why a pear came to mind but googled Magnolia foliage and bingo the above came as a 'fingerprint' match.
Thanks again...Get used to the monster leaves on my garden Magnolia that never in a million years would I suspect they are related.
Maybe flowers will come and it sure as will drop it's leaves.
