Did I say I like round rocks as well?

Occasionally we come across round stones when we are fossicking. Might not think they are rare and to come across these is not such big deal but the semi-precious stones (quartz, red jasper, chalcedony species etc) here have been slowly acquired over about 15 years looking at alluvial gravels from the last ice age. For me they are particularly special because they inspire, through an oddity of nature, thought about how a hard, sharp, angular piece of rock has become this regular shape without human interference. Well for me it does. How big does a rock have to be to roll around a river to be shaped into a ball shape? .............mmmmmm love looking at the ground and contemplating this stuff!!! Some of these specimens will be presented seperately in near future on its own daiza.

I think I may have mentioned how my hubby hates it when we go somewhere with pretty rocks. I have a beaut sphere on my desk at all times, picked up on the west coast of NZ. Great stuff, fossilfinder!
