This is quite unbelievable.Homer911 wrote:Check out the nebari on this fella!!

I just returned from a long trip to Alice Springs.
Along the way, I decided to take note of any elusive bit of Aussie Native inspiration that has never really grabbed me before.
Travelled over 8500km, covered every mainland state besides WA, saw thousands and thousands (millions?!?) of trees....
Took pics of only 3 trees that grabbed my attention enough to warrant levering the camera from my mrs's hands.....
This was the first pic......
....

Can you believe that?!
It is quite spooky that of all the trees in Australia, this is the first one I photographed.

Must be the Holy Grail!

Re: Quick trip to alice springs
Quality not quantity aye?
I love that second pic, that is what I've mentioned in Eucalypt threads previously.
In 5/10/15 years I want one of my eucs to have a main branch as dead as this with that calloused growth around its collar.

Re: Quick trip to alice springs
Incredible trees and amazing coincidence!
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful
