Help needed to identify this bug
My ficus has been attacked by this little nasty critter, since we don't have biological decease killer I hit them with the chemical gun. They are dead now but I like to know more about it so maybe I can prevent future outbreaks. Thanks for any information.

I think they are thrips.

Yep, they are thrips.
I just squash the folded leaves to kill them, then remove the leaf. They can be dispersed by wind, so I figure there is not much point spraying the plant.You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thank you for the advice, it were to many, I sprayed the hole front garden.
I tried to keep up by removing the leaves, could not cope.
