I have been given a Pine by a friend who is about to do the big lap round Oz.
He and I have no idea what it is so your help is needed.
The needles have the sharppoint of a Japanese. Black Pine, however, the candles look like a Japanese. Red Pine
Will now try and get a couple of photos.

Re: Pine ID Please
Hi, from the looks of the needles, it's most likely be JBP.

Re: Pine ID Please
Hi AndyC,
That may even be a Red Pine going by the colour of the buds on my screen. Red Pine have slightly redder buds/candles & bark than Black Pine.
Good luck,
Black Knight

Re: Pine ID Please
Hi All.
Its a confused pine cos...candles look like JRP and are sharp like a JBP. It has 2 needles and I believe that it may have been grafed onto possibly a JBP root stock.
