Plum from 2011 Dig

Post by Watto »

This plum has been re-potted this month and is from a dig that the Goulburn Bonsai Society organised in 2011, and I thought it was time for this one to have its own post.
I decided I didn't like the big one sided root so it had to go and that has resulted in the overall shape being a bit out of kilter but a few snips and some wire should rectify that.
This tree hasn't flowered much but I hold out hope for the future.

Very nice watto :-)
A stick in a pot is better than no stick at all. Remember even the best bonsai started as a stick.

Terry - it is 400mm high and 450mm wide. A good general size I think.

This is going to be a top tree Watto. Make sure you take your time to build the branches slowly to get lots of sinuous movement. Don't be afraid to remove something if you think it will potentially improve the tree in the future.
Remember this tree will live longer than you!
