Royal Adelaide Show - Eriocephalus africanus

Post by Matt S »

I was at the Royal Adelaide Show today checking out the Bonsai entries. The display area is smaller than previous years but they are turning over the trees more frequently so there are still a good numbers overall.

Here are a couple of Eriocephalus africanus entered by Chris Drinkwater. If you were at last year's convention in Adelaide you would have seen Chris giving a talk about this species and seen some excellent examples, two of which are now in the national collection. He's a talented guy and his trees are improving every year.

This shohin was displayed in a box to give the impression of a tokanama, including a small scroll which I thought was really effective.

Thanks Matt, really interesting and artistic work. Had to opportunity to see his work at the National collection "up close" and his work is great.
