Ok. It's possible but worth the effort? Not sure. To do that, you will have to plant the cutting horizontally with just the new shoot exposed. As the shoot grows, bury it a bit deeper so the base is covered. You may get roots forming at the base of the new shoot or anywhere at any other node along the cutting. If there are no nodes, you probably will only get roots at the new shoot and/or more from where there are roots already.
The other option is to plant it upright and next spring cut off everything above the roots except for one bud (if there is one there) and go from there.
