These pair I have had for a couple of years now that jumped out at me at a Market.
Pot's are from Bonsai Sensation's $1.50 bargain bin.
6 small pots for $15 back a while was a bargain as far as starter pots go.
All needed a re-bore as like all cheap pots they drain badly with holes that are too small.
Anyway here they are 18 months since they were initially potted up.
A crimson variety but I have seen no flowers...That I'm not worrying about.
Anyway here they are.

hi Steve,
I have a couple of escallonias my self, they were the only trees to continuously grow through the winter, not very fast mind you but did never the less and we also reach tempretures of -4 through winter,
If you want flowers prune in autumn for flowers in spring, though they might need a bit more growth.

Hi Steve,
I have had a 28 inch tall Escallonia now for 6 months and it has done great during spring and summer. However, our temperatures here in Colorado are starting to dip. I have tried to find care instructions for it, but to no avail. My question is, how do I winterize it?
