Maple in Flower
Really this should be in the deciduous section, but ha, its flowering and is posted just for fun. It is a field maple (Acer Campestre) and I grew it from seed.

Re: Maple in Flower
My campestris have never flowered Watto. Mine are old but have not developed very well so that may have something to do with it. Yours looks far better.
Japanese maples in pots flower regularly, some even set seed. My Taiwan maples in pots are covered in flowers and seed each year even though they are very young.
At the moment the maples in the garden are humming with bees so there is obviously nectar in the flowers. I wonder what maple honey tastes like?

Re: Maple in Flower
This one flowers and sets seed each year and currently has a "baby" from last years seeds that has just sprouted in the pot. I'll take a photo if I get home early enough today.
Poor little thing needs a bigger pot though!!!
