poinciana, Delonix regia for the air layer onslaught

Post by Jamie »

hey guys, i have a fair few poinciana's at my place and i am thinking of air layering them, what do you think? has anyone airlayered these before?

if so how was the success rate? and how did they handle it after wards??

any info on this would be great!

thanks in advance people.

the picture attached is the one im looking at air layering, the owners of my rental cut it back hard about 4 weeks ago. it seems they have a great growth rate!
some of the branches im looking at are up to 4inches thick, will this work still being so thick?

regards jamie.

ps. im not sure that this is an australian native, so if need be give me a slap on the wrists :P
