Juniper Kaizuka

So happy my beautiful mrs got me a few things for valentinesday and one of those was a 60cm tall juniper kaizuka

I know i have tones of work to do soon and it's only my 2nd wiring attempt but what ya think?

Just thinking that the bends are very regular though. We see lots of junipers like this. I try for a more random, natural look when bending junipers - larger bends, smaller ones, bends within bends, occasionally a small bend down then back up to break up the curves a little.
Can't see the side view from here so I hope you have some 3D movement as well as the side to side. Just try to avoid the corkscrew look.

OK but time to stop playing with this one. Every time you bend the tree cells get broken. If you keep bending it back and forwards you can kill part of the tree.
General rule: make a bend then leave it for at least a few months to recover.

So would that mean i cant wire the branches with light wire either? Or do you just mean not to work the trunk anymore..

Make sure you keep those tools oiled Wal, vegetable oil is what I was recommended by the guy that runs the Kaneshin website.

Every time you buy a tree, I would recommend getting two. Be careful with one and abuse the other and see what you can do. You'll find that over time the abused tree will become your favourite.

Keep compressing those bends, especially close to the ground. It's no good having a bending trunk if the first 5-10cm's is straight.

Don't just bend left and right. Think more 3D. Bend forwards and backwards too. Compress those bends; do it over a few weeks.
