Airlayer juniper chinesis
Hi i have a c juniper bonsai which is large and i am thinking of cutting it gradually to fix taper. Can i airlayer it now and take a little top piece off? Or is now not the correct time? Read somwhr it would take about 3-4 months to root so was thinking to do it now.

Re: Airlayer juniper chinesis
Junipers root at different rates depending on the time of year, how healthy the tree is, amount of light, water, fert, etc so no one can give you a definite timeline.
They produce roots quite easily so level of difficulty is low.
Now will be as good a time as any to layer a juniper. My guess is you will probably need to leave the layer on until spring before there are good roots but that would be an ideal time to remove a new layer.
