Hi,
Anyone have an idea if this is a fungus or not, good / bad?
The tree was quite pot bound, had thick sections of mycorrhizae when repotted, had been in white polystyrene container for many years. Tree was repotted around 6 months ago into proper container. Soil mix made up from pine bark, pumice, zeolite, small amount of coit peat and bone / blood meal. Noticed this fungus growing on the top of the soil couple weeks back.
Any suggestions?

If there is still healthy myco in the soil, this could be the fruiting body of that (there are many different species) or it could be another type of decomposing fungus. If there is white mycelium in the mix, all should be fine.

Thanks Treeman / Kirky, will scratch the soil surface and check, cannot lift out of pot as tree is tied in and don't won't to disturb unless necessary.
