Hey Folks,
My first post here after being recommended by another member, so apologies if this isn't the way to start.
I am a bonsai tinkerer but have decided to actually try and do something solid. I have a couple of elm and random other things I am growing but am trying to focus on Jade, easy to grow and fast to regrow when I muck it up.
Here are a couple of things I am working on. I was uber happy that I managed to wire the bent one and NOT break it, so easy to break. The other one is a little random in its shape but just trying to thicken it up and obviously one is my little Jade farm - poor little things.. so many doomed to failure!
I have another one where I am grafting small off-cuts from farm jade into a larger one, so far so good and will put some stuff up about that later.
Cheers
S.

Re: Some Jade WIP
P{ut a few of thos little ones in the ground next spring and let them go mad for a few years.
You will then have thicker material to play with.

Re: Some Jade WIP
Hi Steven,
Good to see you getting stuck into Jades, I reckon they are a great species for a beginner.
If I can make a suggestion, next time you take some cuttings go for something a lot bigger. You can cut a branch as thick as your arm and get a successful cutting, especially in hot weather. The trick is to give it a good water then don't give it any more until you see new shoots. By going for a big cutting you'll be saving yourself years of effort.
Good luck.
Matt.

Re: Some Jade WIP
Thanks for the suggestions. I plan to stick some of them in the ground when I have something more than a balcony! Gimme six months (waiting for a divorce to settle).
In relation to the cuttings.. what you see in the farm is almost all from nothing other than a leaf.. I literally am growing all that from nothing to build up something more to work with.
Tis a slow road to get to where I actually got to now to realise this is actually pretty fun.
