A year has gone by and during that period some 3-4 branches died and instead of keeping them for creating stubs I cut them flush with the trunk (dumb idea).
My idea with this one is to create a large formal upright but haven't done that before.
Generally it has a straight trunk but no taper at all. I was wondering whether I can take out a wedge of wood from the top to say midway and try to fuse the trunk to develop the taper.
Anyone tried this before?
