Re: White Wisteria
Hi Raymond
The white is certainly an eye catcher, great display.
I love the pot you have it in, I have two of them and a mate called them truck rim pots so he is of the Christmas list.

Re: White Wisteria
Beautiful tree but I need my ignorance cleared up - is the white the Chinese version and Purple the Japanese version or is the flower colour not the criteria

Re: White Wisteria
Lovely but half the trunk is deadwood. You need to watch that because it will rot away soon and you might be left with.....well not much.

Re: White Wisteria
Both W. sinensis (Chinese) and W. floribunda (Japanese) come in white, violet and blue forms so flower colour is not a determining factor. There is also a pink flowered and a double flowered form of floribunda.Beautiful tree but I need my ignorance cleared up - is the white the Chinese version and Purple the Japanese version or is the flower colour not the criteria
I believe the easiest way to separate these 2 species is to check which way the vine twists around the support. W. floribunda twists clockwise and sinensis goes the other way.
There are also a couple of American species available if you look far enough.

Re: White Wisteria
looking forward to it JP.
We will have tables loaded with trees again but if anyone wants anything in particular let me know and I'll try to include it in the load.
