First Baeckea Ever, give it a crack

Hi all,

Another first for me this week, took on the Baeckea just a little stuck on refinement but did a repot and slight trim and wire to start to see how it responds.

Not 100% on which direction to go with it.

Open to suggestions

A little more refinement after it settling down after the repot I didn’t want to go too hard.

Think it will turn out good in the next few years.

Desperate advice needed, I just noticed this Baeckea looking very unhealthy, only literally only 1.5 weeks ago totally healthy.

I have 3 other Baeckea totally green and healthy. I just pulled out of the pot to see if the root system had any insects infesting but nothing visible.

Any suggestions or ideas on what could be causing it?

Any chance it got a bit dry a few weeks ago?
If any tree has been in the pot for too long the increase in roots makes it hard to get enough water into the mix and they start to suffer.
Excess water can also cause similar symptoms for some trees so it is hard to pin down a cause without seeing, feeling and knowing some more background.

I would probably take a look at the roots if it will lift out of the pot without too much disturbance.
Looks like a good trim is well overdue too so this might be a good opportunity to trim all the long shoots back and hope that it shoots back.

Mine does this occasionally, think there are caterpillars stripping it, then a couple of weeks later all the growth has returned...

they're little yellow ones with hairy backs...
