Up early this morning so I took a trip to my favourite place on earth. The crazy, wonderful trees here are part of what got me into bonsai. Pics are mainly monochrome, as I wanted to focus on form and line rather than colours. So many amazing trees!

What a wonderful place to chill out. The images give rise as to the question why Australia doesn’t develop our own styles with our fabulous native?

Ah, you were in my backyard! Great photography. It's worth walking up some of the creeks until you reach freshwater to see some incredible waterswept Tristania neriifolia, Tristaniopsis laurina and Leptospermum spp. There are also some incredible naturally dwarfed species on the skeletal sandstone soils on ridges and sandstone near the Powerline Trail.

As an obsessive compulsive identifier of plants, I've taken the liberty of identifying them for you. Note that there's not a lot to go off here so they may be a bit off. If you'd like to know any for certain, let me know as I'm nearby and can easily ID them for you.

5) Difficult to say without seeing fruit. Could be Eucalyptus resinifera.

Bobbin head is a magical place for me. If you're in the area and haven't checked it out, do yourself a favour and go!
The photos were taken on my Huawei Mate 10 phone which has dual Leica lenses, and edited on Instagram.

Joel, you are amazing! My love for the trees in this great land is vast, but my knowledge of them is embarrassingly small. I wander, wondering which tree is which....thank you for th IDs!
On this walk the Leptospermum trinervium really caught my eye. I'll ll be looking out for some decent stock to play with...

There was a king tide that morning. When I started my walk, the water was about an inch below the walkway. On my return, I had to wade through about six inches to get back to the car!
