Callistemon - Bottle brush

Ive been stuck with this tree,

just wondering if you guys could provide me with some inspiration or any suggested design would be great...

also wondering how long should the leaves show growth take its been 5 weeks or so since ive chopped it.. just havent seen any signs of growth just yet...

Im not really sure on design. I think personally I would go with the third idea you have.
I love the trunk and nebari It looks great

i wanted to cut the middle of the swollen trunk to further create the V look on that area....

G,day jwishbone. The options you have given in the first and second pictures give you a twin trunk. Mother and child.
The third gives a somewhat confused feeling, it is neither twin trunk or single.
I suggest if you go that way lose the small trunk, and make a feature of the scar.

I would airlayer at a point that give you a better root spread ( nebari ) these tree's do it easily.

I personally don't go for the secondary trunk in its present form. It could be carved down to jin or removed at the fold in it's base,
Wait for signs of growth before making any decision.

i agree ... i might cut it into a jin...

never tried one before... so this might be the time to do it..

I was thinking the same as pasquale but didn't wanna jump to conclusions, I have never seen a Callistemon like that before but if you asked me to guess I think I would agree with pasquale and say it looks more like an Acacia. Regarding the styling I can see what Pup is eluding to, mother & daughter would work with this in time. I have read around that if this is the style your after it is better to have both apexes (spelling?!) pointing in the same sort of direction, as if the younger is following the parent.

Huh looking at the leaves! it is not a Callistemon. Not being a Botanist or even a qualified horticulturist.
I will make my excuse as I did not look to closely at the pictures as I did at the virtuals.

Having now looked at the foliage and noting where Jwishbone resides. I would hazard a guess at one of the many Angophora's
or even a Leptosremun. With a large lignotuber I would go for the former.
