My crab apple bonsai is in full flower at the moment.
Pretty sure this is the earliest it has ever flowered. I noted in another thread that this tree was shown at a BSV show many years ago in full flower just like it is now. BSV shows are early Oct so this year peak flowering is at least 2 weeks earlier than late last century.
Maybe just normal yearly seasonal variation??? or a permanent shift in seasons?

Re: crab apple
Wow, that sure is a mass of buds.
I guess we're all seeing variances in our flowering/budding etc, good that we have the forum to help us keep track!

What a beauty!! The colour is fantastic too. You must be doing something right to get the tree to that level.

Re: crab apple
Stunning tree! I am quite jealous, because I had to give mine away to a friend with a big dog, after the possums ate all its leaves two years running. I guess you've got dogs too.

Re: crab apple
Only one very aged corgi who once would have taken on any possums but now far too old to bother. Fortunately we don't have resident possums but I do need to protect the fruit from marauding parrots later in the season.
