Grevillea Crithmifolia

I picked up these shrubs from a local VIC Nursery. Does anybody have any experience with this species of Grevillea? The tag suggests that it is suitable for bonsai. It is a native of WA, and is also known as 'Spider Flower'.

I found them in the back corner and they looked considerabl worse than they now appear and I've only had them a month.

I have not yet repotted them but will use a mix of bonsai mix and sand to make a free draining mix.

Infor and or advice will be greatfully recieved.

Grevillea make some amazing bonsai. I personally don't have any as bonsai, my 2019 trees died from too much fertilizer. Once you give them alot of fertilizer too high in phosphorus they seem to die and i had just repotted them too. Don't take my word for it as I'm still new too grevilleas myself. Best of luck

According to Rory and RuthM, our local Grevillea guru, don't prune the top or the roots too hard - which is probably why I've killed every Grevillea I've tried... They're fine on normal rates of fertiliser if you increase the rate gradually - they get used to it. NEVER fertilise straight after repotting! I hadn't realised it was from WA - I'll add more drainage to the mix next time.

Just a quick update on my grevillea Crithmofolia. Plant 1/2 did not recover and died off. Plant 2/2 looking pretty good and has plenty of new growth.

Just a quick update on my Grevilea Crithmifolia. So far so good, it's stull in the nursery pot, but much heathier than when I bought it in the cheep bin.

I think it may be ready to flower, but not yet sure.

Am considering a tall pot in semi-cascade style ( like a Crysanthemum) in the future, try to minimise root pruning as advised.

Thoughts and ideas appreciated.

Not yet in full bloom, but my trees are getting a farm stay whilst we move house... I will collect them back once settled.

Hi do you still have the Crithmifolia? If so can we see some recent pix on its progress? Crithmifolia aren't easy to find in the nurseries.
