What a great year it has been for seeing trees exhibited after the last year or two of only being able to to see one or none .
Looking forward to seeing this one as well !

Is stuff (wire, tools, pots, starter trees) generally cheaper at an exhibition than at a nursery?

This'll be my first exhibition - looking forward to it.

I’ve spent an imprudent amount of money on tokoname bonsai pots recently, all bar 1 of which i do not have trees for :palm: so wallet will firmly stay in pocket I think

There will generally be some good bargains on the sales tables that are cheaper than bonsai nursery retail prices.

Really impressed by the BSV show today - some seriously impressive trees, with a lot of care put into the entire display.
I promised I wouldn’t buy anything and therefore only got three trees and a pot. So that’s a victory, I guess?
Well done to all involved.

Liked the new black screens/backgrounds and tablecloths. Made a “blank canvas” that gave each tree a place to shine without any distraction. I think that helped to elevate the exhibition from previous years (which is undeniably one of the best shows in Victoria at any rate). A nice job by BSV committee and members to put it all together.

I'm not sure what previous exhibitions were like but I really liked the black cloth as well. Made the whole ambiance feel very quiet and introspective, perfect for admiring bonsai.

Only annoyance for me was needing to look at the page to see what type of tree it was, but not a big issue at all.

Bought 3 trees and worried I might have hurt one already :(

Fantastic show, some great quality trees, very glad I took the motorbike otherwise I’d have bankrupted myself at the sales table buying pots :tu:
