Not a species I'd heard of until I looked into a gnarly thicket growing near a local lake that I like to run in circles around.
They seem to get thick brown rugged bark eventually, but otherwise they look somewhere between an ericifolia and lanceolata both in their foliage and papery bark character. So I got some seeds! Used a fairly boggy coir-heavy seedling mix. Hope these don't all survive or I'll need a second backyard. Planted in mid-January, second photo from today. Definitely not too late for new entries, as you see!
