JUNIPER repotting- is now alright to do it?

Post by hugh grant »

hey everyone
here i go with another repotting question which i seem to alot in my posts but its something im always wary of as i have lost a few trees to wrong repotting and doing it at the wrong time of year :o , i lost my best tree because i didn't repot correctly and at the wrong time of year which left it to die :( .

but anyway.......... Is now an alright time to repot junipers particalary juniperous squagmata (if thats how you spell it) and if not when?
i have repotted junipers before but i just wanted some insight as to when and if now is fine because i have been told before that you can basically repot them any time of year.
thanks, replies appreciated :D

if you are not doing any heavy bending, pruning, thinning, top and botton, you will be fine. to be kept in the shade for the first month and water morn and night. mid of day too if too hot. i have had great results, dec- jan on that proviso. if it needs too much work you are better leaving it for march- april. ;) 8-)

viewtopic.php?f=38&t=426&p=3454&hilit=j ... ta+2#p3454

remember there was alot of fiberous roots close to the trunk. now all this depends on how mature ya tree is too. have to ask ya self what have you got to lose. :D
