At a friends yesterday doing some mutual work on tree's ( picked up some more Hokkeido elm stock ) I was asked if I knew how successful air layering Japanese Black pines was.
When to do it and what method was best. Not being a JBP person I could not answer. So what I am doing now is asking.
I have read as has my friend what is available in varying books.
What I would like is from personal experience, like when you did it what medium was used was it the ring bark method or wire tourniquet.
Did you use a drip feed for the watering or the standard cling wrap with sphagnum moss.
I would be very grateful as the friend is one in a million, and if can help, with your help it would be wonderful.
Cheers looking forward to a lot of replys of successful air layers
