Ledanta Virtual Competition - February 2010
Here we go with another virt comp!
This is a small cascade that I lost part of the tail of about 2 or 3 years ago. I have left it to grow in order to gain strength and create some options for restyling. I took the photos today, just before I restyled it. Once the comp is over, I will post pics of the restyled tree.
Cheers,
Leigh.

Re: Ledanta Virtual Competition - February 2010
here we go, i was thinking out side the square this early morning
i turned the tree from pic three anti clockwise to an upright form, used what was there in the way of foliage and made a bunjin
also added some deadwood to the tree so i guess it makes it a tanuki

nice little coloured sketch
jamie
edit- that is a PK pot too

Well, decided to have a bit of fun
Drew the first thing that came to mind and just looking at curvatures and current state of the tree guide the lines!
Spontaneity is useful at times, spent 10 minutes in total
I suppose that drawing would work if it were a penjing or something.

Re: Ledanta Virtual Competition - February 2010
Had some more fun
It turned out somewhat similar in form to the previous one
But, it was sketched with the idea of: what happened if it were to be all twisted and contorted from a whip stage and then grown out? (think Shimpaku in Japan)
The tree is all twisted and shari'd...
Zoom in for some details
aaaaaand ... sorry
I couldn't help it but add weird little effects to it, don't ask me why a junipers foliage is magenta

Re: Ledanta Virtual Competition - February 2010
Good virts so far! Keep them coming! I was hoping all those who have virted in the past comps might have a crack at this one....... seeing I have done a restyle on this tree already, how bout I offer a prize also for the virt that closest resembles how I have already restyled the tree? What does everyone think? Good idea?
Cheers,
Leigh.

I can't stop
Please ignore the little details and all the scenery stuff, I know that a bonsai tree should actually reflect a story and its living conditions on its own design and accord but I can't help it
