Re: trident maple
Hi Magb,
Generally brown tips on a trident indicate a little drying of the foliage. This could happen in a few ways, two of which might be, a lack of moisture in the pot on a hot day, or secondly, a hot and drying wind has "burnt" the foliage. Not too much to worry about - it is common in our hot and dry country for this to happen. Your trident leaves will fall in a couple of months and come spring you should have new fresh ones. Next season - try to avoid the hot and drying winds during the hottest months, and dont allow your tree to stay too dry for too long.
Cheers,
Leigh.

Re: trident maple
overwatering can be a cause of this to mate, make sure your watering regime is correct and you are allowing sufficient time in between to allow the soil to dry some before the next drink

Re: trident maple
Here is a tip for everyone.....over watering will give a browning of the inner parts of the leaf. Browning of the outer parts of the leaf is generally from drying out.
