Hi Magb,
If you are looking for wisteria you should only buy them with flower buds or in flower. When wisteria are propagated if the nurseryman uses wood that has not flowered they can take many many years to do so. My advice to you is to hold off on your wisteria until the flowering period then look for one.

Good advice 20 years only flowered once sold it. It has not missed a flowering since. Mrs Pup flowers every year a grafted one, some time 3 times.

Yes Pup I have one the same its supposed to be a white which has the best perfume but who knows I sure don't. It has such a lovely old trunk I am loath to part with it

yea that was a concern of mine aswell, but you guys on the sunny coast can grow T.maples sweet as were me, Rod and Tony they just sit stagnant.

if you were to get a japanese maple it would require good protection all round from sun, wind and weather in general all year round, the J. maples arent as strong as tridents.

even tridents sulk and youll never have much nice leaf on them down here may be in a shade house but then the humidity gets em their doable but gotta know what your doing

at least you guys get the cooler times, up here that is just un thought of, we are lucky to get one night that gets down to below twenty.

Its so much better to tailor your collection to suit your climate. You can spend years fussing over trees outside their climate zone when the effort could be put into plants that flourish. The long term results are so much better.

i agree completly there mate a lot of my trees are fig which love it up here, clero aswell, i may be stepping out of the trees comfort zones with JBP when i get one but from what i have seen they thrive pretty well!

i have given up on maples altogether.

Don't know if you're still after a wisteria or what size tree. If you're after a large wisteria, then I've got one up for grabs. Depends on your budget.

Been estimated at 30 - 35+ years old.

Personally the flowering isn't critical to me....I'm into their trunks. But ftr mine last flowered in Jan this year (sporadic). I've decided it's too big for me. I can lift it in its styro box but not if its in a Bonsai pot (never had it in a pot).

The tree needs development....it's a trunk with lots of branching.

I'm after 4 figures or close if you're interested.
