Tool sharpener

i use a plain old sharpening stone mate. 2 dollar shop, you can also get a thing called a crean mate which is bout 10 bucks and they are good too

Crean mate is a cleaning tool that should be in all tool boxes.It get all the build up of sap off, it also gets rust off. As for this sharpener like all things you get what you pay for.

I have found the best sharpener is the one Don Burke recommends. It is not cheap but it will do for all your Bonsai tools with out taking too much metal.

It is a Swss made (istor) sharpener I bought mine in B#^^!`;s. I use it on all of my tools even the hard to sharpen secateurs.

I think Ray and all good Bonsai Nursery's would carry the Crean mate.

I have found the best sharpener is the one Don Burke recommends. It is not cheap but it will do for all your Bonsai tools with out taking too much metal.

It is a Swss made (istor) sharpener I bought mine in B#^^!`;s. I use it on all of my tools even the hard to sharpen secateurs.

I concur on it being one of the best (I have it in large and small), yet dis-agree with the comment "with out taking to much metal". Anyone in-experienced in that style of "guide yourself" sharpener, runs the risk of mis-honing or taking a big chunk out of the metal. They chew through metal if you press too hard, I have actually used it to turn a square edge 20cmx5mm piece of bar into a blade.

I use the Masakuni Ceramic Sharpener - it is brilliant! And currently a bit cheaper than normal!

Any one who does use any tool incorrectly will always have adverse results, use as per instructions and you will have no trouble.
