Hakea Advice
I just got this Hakea tree at the nursery today for $25. The trunk is about 2 inches across and the tree is about 1.5 meters high. I was wondering if it would back bud if i cut the trunk down. If so where should i cut it? Any advice on care would also be good.

Re: Hakea Advice
Think this would backbud fairly easily. Mostly a guess, but we have a row of hakeas which are falling over, and just resprout happily from the horizontal. Makes for an 'interesting' hedge.

Re: Hakea Advice
As far as I knwo they back shoot onto onld wood, but have not tried myself
Pick a branch and cut it back hard as a test. If it works then I would cut it back hard to grow a new leader from as low as you can
