I have just gotten off the phone from Lee Wilson who has informed me that due to uncertainties with his landlord, he is winding down his nursery and will be closing the doors for good in a couple of months time. Bonsai Artistree has been in the same site for the last 6 years and coincidently this Easter Saturday is the anniversary. Lee assures me that he will be spending a lot of his new found time on his own collection .
Lee is reducing all his stock by a minimum 20% - starting this Easter Saturday.
Yes best of Luck Lee. Change can sometimes be seen as sad but I get the feeling this is the start of bigger and better things for you
I will be calling to see if one tree is going but it was in the private area last time I was there
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.
Seems we are all closing down! Its a tough game thats for sure. I have found that it is hard to keep the customers happy with prices, and then when you go out of your way to give good prices, you seem to put other people off side.
Cheers Lee and good luck. I too am looking forward to freeing time to work on my own collection.

such a shame, this is the third place to be closing down in a short period, there was mason keane's nursery that has shut down aswell, very sad, i hope all goes well for the owners of the artistree with whatever they choose to go on with.
SHOHIN YAKUZA!!! taking the top half of trees of since 2005!
and growing trees for the future generations! 50+ year plans
that black pine is a corker! and the price is unbeleiveable! if i had $500 bucks spare i would be snapping that up and the juniper is gold aswell for $800. i suggest if those trees are still available go and get them, both of them, they are worth way more than that and would be a valuable addition to anyones collection!

The first tree looks like a white pine. The second tree looks like a juniper. Are they all mislabeled? I hope someone on Ausbonsai snaps them up at those prices and show some pics on this forum. Good luck Lee, wish you all the best.
Hard to believe isn't it?, maybe they're just to get you through the door and then you get the old "oh we've sold out of them but we have these" routine, I hope not, I'm sure someone that knows the place better can enlighten us.

I never thought of that. But I guess someone could ring up and ask about them before they go there. I remember when I first went there a few years back, the prices he quoted for some of his trees were just out of my league. But now, at those advertised prices, theyve come down alot and theyre similar quality to what I remembered. I hope he finds a new place to start his business again.
